Whitetail Lodge is a majestic, 3-story, post and beam log structure, overlooking scenic Glen Lake. It is situated in a heavily wooded, very private, 1 acre lot nestled in the Rocky Mountains with a great view of surrounding mountain peaks. Whitetail Lodge is located on the west side of scenic Glen Lake in a heavily wooded, very secluded and private area. Large windows face Glen Lake giving a spectacular view of the lake and opposite shore. Included in this view are mountains that rise up from the east shore of Glen Lake. These rugged mountains are part of the Rockies and are contained within the Kootenai National Forest with nearby majestic 6,000 to 9,000 foot mountain peaks. Part of your view also includes Therriault Pass. Located at the top of this mountain range, it is a large glacially formed U-shaped pass. Years ago a glacier swept through this pass and down into the valley below where it scoured out the lake bed of Glen Lake. As the glacier receded the waters filled this basin and formed Glen Lake. Glen Lake is a picture perfect mountain lake. It is about 1 mile across and 2 miles long. It warms up nicely in the summer for swimming, is large enough for boating and water skiing and is full of trout and salmon if you like to fish. Periodically you may spot an Osprey or Bald Eagle doing some fishing of their own. Frequently, Whitetail Deer will be seen in the front yard feeding in the morning. We have also seen elk and moose on occasion, but deer are very common.
