The Morning Mist Cottage was built around the 1900 era. It has been completely remodeled and restored to the Cottage theme with modern conveniences. There are three bedrooms with queen sized beds, a queen converta bed and a love seat that will sleep one. It has two and a half baths, with one featuring a whirlpool tub. The large kitchen offers all the conveniences of everything that you should need, except food or beverages.The Cottage features two decks, one on each level. Satellite TV, internet, a gas grill and an outdoor fire ring are some amenities. This Cottage is located on a 120 acre farm in the center of various attractions. Four golf courses located within 15 miles, several trout streams within 25 miles, and four public swimming pools within 15 miles. Tourist attractions nearby include: The Field of Dreams movie site; The Ertl National Toy Museum; The Villa Louis (a fur trader mansion that was one of the first settlements in the area); Effigy Mounds National Monument (prehistoric Indian Mounds); two Casinos. These are a few of the many historic places in the area, with many more to explore. The Mississippi River is 12 miles away and was the path of the first settlers. There is a Morning Mist nature trail on the property with limited hunting, if available. Our Cabin or Homestead may be available to accommodate larger parties.
