Live Life on the Lake!
Hilltop Resort is a 1930's cottage with lots of original charm and character, but recently updated with modern amenities! Located in the heart of Nicolet National Forest right on Big Maiden Lake and walking distance to Little Maiden Lake. Sleeps 8.
Here's a description of what you can expect in this slice of Heaven!
Upper Level: Large BR w/King bed and lake views. Small BR w/Single bunks. Living room w/sectional and game table and separate room off of Living Room with a Queen futon and lake views. Bathroom w/shower.
Lower Level Includes: Kitchen w/dining table (seats 6) and pantry access. Family room w/ fireplace, large TV, Queen futon, lounge chairs and more...Lots of views towards lake.
Exterior Includes: Octagon Picnic Table +Umbrella (seats 8). Separate large area with Rectangular Picnic Table +Umbrella (seats many), many side chairs, and side tables surrounding a fire pit. Off to the side, by the water, is a multi-seat swinging chair.
Big Maiden Lake: 300-acre spring fed crystal clear water lake. 60' deep in center, firm sandy bottom, walk in depth, no weeds. Private pier with bench, two kayaks and metal fishing boat available for use during your stay. Fantastic swimming, water sports, fishing. No wake before 10am and after 4pm for quiet evenings.
Little Maiden Lake: Frontage, pier, metal fishing boat, and a canoe available for use during your stay on this smaller lake which is under loon protection. Electric motor only on Little Maiden, very quiet, abundant wildlife. Huge Northern, Bass, Walleye Lake Perch. Semi-private, no boat landing.
Entertainment: (3) TVs including one 55" HDTV with Direct TV and all premium movie channels. (3) DVD players (1 with Blu-ray). Extensive DVD collection. Super Nintendo Games, Puzzles, and Board Games. Stereo w/CD & Cassette Player. Kitchen Items: Fridge, 4-Burner Stove, Microwave, Toaster, Coffee Pot, Cutlery, Drinkware, Dishes, Pots & Pans. Other: Bed linens and hair dryer provided. *Towels not provided*

Nearby Attractions: - Many art and craft boutiques and shops in nearby Lakewood. Great golf course (McCauslin Brook Golf Course) 10 minutes away. Candy shop, Pie shop, and drive-in Ice Cream Stand in Lakewood. Mini golf in Townsend (neighboring town). White water rafting (Wolf River & Peshtigo), horseback riding, and trout streams nearby. On ATV and snowmobile trails, and close to many hiking trails including Cathedral Pines.
We had a beautiful week on Maiden Lake. The almost 100 year old cottage was so cool. The only downfall was the steps. My husband is having knee problems so he wasn't able to navigate the steps real well. Loved watching the loons. Loons came within 40 feet of us on Little Maiden Lake. So worth the walk. Our grandson truly loved swimming and we enjoyed the sunshine. No air conditioning, but none needed because there is a great breeze coming in off the lake. There was plenty of outdoor seating which was awesome for watching the boats and our grandson swim. The owner's mother brought him snorkel gear over which he loved using. Thank you for sharing your cottage with us. It truly was a delight!
