This newly built unit is absolutely immaculate! And, the outdoor lanai and gardens are so beautiful - and very well maintained (and secure). We were greeted by Steve who took the time to show us the details of the unit, and we also were greeted by a beautiful bouquet of Hawaiian flowers along with fresh fruit and banana bread. The apartment has very fast internet service, and was built by someone who knows what travelers need. We stayed three nights and hated to leave. It was close to Hilo, so we were able to drive in to eat and visit the local beaches and also go sightseeing. We also had time to drive to Volcano National Park and back to the apartment. If you are driving from Kona via the northern most highway, buy your food in Kona. If you are driving from Hilo, buy your food in Hilo. The unit has items such as condiments, oil, vinegar, and creamer and sugar for coffee. We would definitely stay here again.
Our thanks to Chris and Steve for sharing their little piece of heaven. This location is very quiet and peaceful and we had the pleasure of staying for an entire week. Steve greeted us and helped guide us in some things to see and do in the area. We managed to get to most locations and all of them were spectacular. We cannot say enough about the condo. Immaculate. Everything you would need has already been thought about and is provided. The shower is awesome. The thoughtful flowers and banana bread that were waiting for us went beyond expectations. We have been travelling to the Hawaiian islands for a number of years and have stayed in over 20 VRBO condos. This condo one of the nicest that we have rented. The bonus is that the landlords are right on site to assist with any issues or questions. Highly recommend (and for longer than one night!).
The rental is very nicely designed, very clean, very roomy (for 1-3 people, as it is supposed to be), very hospitable and very comfortable. We loved everything inside and outside the house. It was a pity that we stayed for only 1 night -- we really do wish we could enjoy this rental for longer. After I booked the rental online, I somehow forgot to make my payment in time (sorry Chris). Chris was very nice about my mistake. During our stay, Chris was out, and her husband Steven took care of us. He was also very nice (for sure, nice people go together ;-) I guess).
The rental unit was just the right size for the two us. Perfectly clean and comfortable. Our gracious hosts had thought of everything we could have possibly needed. Great location for seeing all the attractions on the East side of the Big Island. Mahalo

This vacation rental was absolutely perfect! We stayed for 2 nights and felt like we were at home. No detail was missed including fresh banana bread, and lemons when we checked in! Everything was so clean, and lovely including the very comfortable bed. The rain shower in the bathroom was fantastic. I've stayed in a lot of rentals and by far this one exceeded our expectations by far. The location was easy to find and excellent directions/signs. Thank you Chris for such a wonderful time. I only wish we could of stayed longer. I highly, highly recommend this vacation rental for a wonderful relaxing accommodation. You will not be disappointed. It truly is a retreat!
Chris and her family have done a wonderful job of creating extremely comfortable accommodations. Doesn't hurt that it's brand new and beautifully decorated. No detail was overlooked. We especially loved the showerhead in the bathroom!! The best shower EVER, which is important for weary travelers!! Very thoughtful to provide the washing machine/dryer (and soap!!). We were able to do a quick couple of loads to get us through the rest of our week. Also, access to the hose for rinsing off sand, etc. was appreciated. The fountain outside the bedroom provided a lovely, peaceful lullaby to fall asleep to, along with the song of the coqui! We enjoyed visiting Akaka falls and looking for sea glass at the beach. Great location for bopping into Hilo. We enjoyed a lovely dinner at Cafe Pesto (the flyer in the book makes it appear much more fancy than it is. We were comfortable in our shorts and flip flops, and the food was definitely upscale and yummy) Everything was accurately described, the entire process was simple, and the value was incredible. My only teensy feedback for improvement would be to consider a softer mattress... of course, that's personal preference!! I would highly recommend this lovely home. Would loved to have stayed longer. We had just purchased a new bed about 2 weeks before your arrival. We did buy the firm mattress knowing they soften but decided to add a High Quality Memory Foam pad on top. Should be super comfortable now without being too soft. Thank you so much for pointing that out to us. We like our bed firm but I guess it was a little too firm.
