One of the more interesting custom homes on the mountain! Heavy timber
used throughout, and eclectic use of wood tones, chevron panels, pecky
cedar and railroad ties, making each room unique. Located on very
quiet street right on the EDGE OF THE NATIONAL FOREST, this house
gives a marvelous feeling of seclusion and quiet isolation, while
still offering convenient close access to all the attractions of Big
Bear. The large back yard opens up into the National Forest, and a
full wrap-around deck surrounds three sides of the home. There is
even a sledding hill and tree house out back for the kids.
Two-stories, the upper floor includes a full bath and two bedrooms
with a queen bed and 3 twin sleigh beds. The comfortable living room
features an old fashioned wood-burning stove, FLAT SCREEN TV and
Blue-Ray, and magnificent floor-to-ceiling windows with VIEWS of Gold
Mountain, opening into the bright and spacious kitchen with a lovely
view of the forest. Both living room and kitchen open out onto the
enormous wrap-around deck, featuring a BBQ, deck chairs, lovely
views of the forest, and visiting birds and squirrels. Downstairs,
the master suite includes a custom queen canopy log bed and full
bath with over-sized jacuzzi tub (jets do not work), making this
retreat a nice combination of creature comforts and rustic décor. In
addition, a full-size futon, roll-away twin, and full-length couch
are also handy for large groups. A large entryway mudroom is
convenient for storing all those wet ski jackets and muddy boots. A
beautiful location, lots of parking, and a delightful feeling of
quiet and seclusion make this the perfect getaway for anything from
skiing, boating, mountain biking, absorbing the fresh pine forest,
relaxing in the sun with a multitude of birds singing in nearby
trees, hiking or snowshoeing in the forest, writing a masterpiece or
composing that symphony. Two miles from the lake and village, 4
miles to Bear Mountain or Snow Summit Ski Resorts, 16 miles to Snow
Valley, and 3 miles to North Shore Boat Launch and Bike Trail.
