Beautiful and comfortable boat. Our family of four, including two teenage girls, thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Slipaway. Beds are comfortable, ample storage, we loved the dining table area. We ordered take out or stayed in to cook so we could sit at the table as a family. The girls loved hanging out of the deck too. The sound of the water at night was so soothing, slept like happy babies. The marina and surrounding area are very nice. We visited Coronado and Sunset Cliff during our stay. In retrospect we wish we had stayed longer. Looking forward to visiting for a month or two once we are empty nesters.
We loved our adventure aboard Slipaway. Hoping to visit another one of Shaun's BnB boats in the future
Our favorite staycation!!! Peaceful and unique experience- highly recommend!
Staying on Slipaway is a wonderful way to feel the smell of the sea and what it would be like to sail away on an adventure without leaving the dock. Not a luxury cruise but rather a more adventurous way to stay and see San Diego. Comfortable and accommodating, Slipaway is a nice alternative to a hotel or motel room for those with a sense of the exotic.
We stayed for three days on the Slipaway. We had as many as five adults stay overnight and all loved waking up on the water. We also did a 3 hour sunset sail and really enjoy seeing the sites, while dinning and drinking a glass of wine (or two). Would recommend this to anyone.
Service was superb with very friendly people who provided anything we wanted. We loved the location which provided us with a great place to run, many good restaurants within walking distance and an easy drive to San Diego. Breakfast is very light. Nice, comfy bed. We had a 3-hour cruise which was enjoyable but would have liked an actual sail not motor cruise and didn't realize we wouldn't be sailing until the captain came aboard. It's obvious how much love and attention has gone into the Slipaway and we appreciate that care.
While our boat is out of the water because of the Ohio winter. This was a real treat for us. For your stay you can make the yacht your home. We will be back.. JB Avon Lake, OH
Spent nine days on Slipaway and had a wonderful time. The staff and facilities were great and very accomadating. The Slipaway is very charming and full of character, very relaxing. Waking up on the water with that fresh air and sense of being part of the Marina community was enjoyable. I would certainly recommend it and hope to go back for another stay. A much nicer feel than a boring hotel room!
When faced with a conference in SD and either a hotel or the slipaway I am so glad I chose the boat. I will do it again in a heartbeat! Will definitely bring my SO back with me! Everyone was great! Despite a day or two rain it was very quiet, minimal motion. Great location
We were looking for a unique getaway, someplace by the water, someplace with a good view, and a place that felt like a little "home" instead of a borrowed hotel room. We found every bit of that search in the Slipaway Boat Bed and Breakfast. It was wonderful and memorable. We were able to enjoy the beautiful blue skies of San Diego one day and the stormy seas and howling winds the next. Both of them were fabulous and wonderful to enjoy on the boat. We plan to return with our children again as it would make for a fun family weekend of playing games, eating snacks and going for walks along the beach. Far better than staying in a traditional hotel. We highly recommend it!
I had a great time -- celebrated my anniversary and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for something different. The yacht was pretty spectacular -- would do it again in a heartbeat.
My husband found this ad through Craigslist and thought it would be a unique accommodation for our stay in California. We had never thought about staying in a boat before. When we arrived, the rental agent gave us a tour of the property and boat. Wow! We were pleasantly surprised that there were more amenities included than we thought. The condition of the boat was amazing. We loved that there was a kitchen and grill to do cooking in. We enjoyed the kayaking and relaxing. We would definitely recommend this to anyone. Thank you for the wonderful time! Perhaps we'll return again real soon!
We really enjoyed our time on "Slipaway" It was perfect for the 2 of us--comfortable bed!! the marina was amazingly quiet, which really surprised us. the boat was very well maintained, and we loved all the teak. Kitchen had everything that we needed. enjoyed morning coffee and wine in the evenings on the deck. We opted to use the shower facility just steps away at the marina---a very nice and clean bathroom/shower facility,...instead of showering on the boat. Loved the close proximity to downtown San Diego. Ate at the Red Sail Inn (just a short walk from the boat) --really delicious and would highly recommend. Barbara (in the marina office )was really helpful with any questions we had.
Slipaway was a wonderful experience from the moment we stepped on board. Staying aboard the boat made our trip so unique. When we arrived, we received a tour of the boat and realized we had a cozy little home away from home. The first night we got to grill steaks right on the deck and enjoy a home cooked meal with the sun setting over the marina. It was so peaceful on the water. It was indescribeable to wake up in the morning and sip a hot cup of coffee while watching the boats set out for some fun on the water. Management went out of their way to ensure our needs were met. Whether you desired to sit on deck or relax inside with a good movie, everything was at your fingertips from deck mats and chairs to flatscreen TV's and DVD players. We were even provided with food, such as fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, coffee and orange juice. This experience could not be matched by staying in a hotel room. Staying on Slipaway just melts your stress away, especially with a glass of wine and the peaceful waters. I highly recommend anyone who wishes for a vacation unlike any other to stay aboard Slipaway.
We stayed on the Slipaway for two nights in celebration of our one year wedding anniversary. The boat was absolutely beautiful and spotless! It's been restored and is a piece of art! Shaun, the marina manager, took her time to give us a detailed tour of the boat. She stocked the boat with fruits and goodies. We brought our own SUPs and bikes so that we could go out and enjoy San Diego, but we had a hard time even leaving the boat. The marina was impecable and and quiet! We would much rather stay on the Slipaway than any 5 star hotel. It was better than we had imagined it would be. We will definitely return!
The weather in San Diego did not cooperate for our special weekend getaway; it was rainy, wet, and cold. Yet, this was the most wonderful weekend we have had in a long time! All of it was thanks to our "B & B"; Slipaway! The yacht was GREAT and romantic. The staff at the marina was superior. All of this before our trip to the vineyards; WOW! I would recommend Slipaway to anyone and everyone who is looking for that special getaway.
