You might want to take a nature hike through the wooded ravine to the community waterfalls, or perhaps instead enjoy a scenic float down the nearby historic New River, one of the oldest and few remaining wild rivers in America. If you don’t want to bring your own, you can easily rent a canoes, kayaks or rafting tubes to suit your needs in the nearby community of Todd. You might want to bicycle along the New River on the scenic (and comfortably flat) Railroad Grade Road to explore Todd itself, well-known for its charming old-time General Store, folk storytelling, open-air bluegrass music on Friday nights and seasonal music and art festivals throughout the year.
