Experience a Berkshire get-away in this huge secluded luxury modern house. It's the only house that is surrounded by 10,000 Acres of protected Hawley State forest. Escape from headaches and the rat race. No cell phone reception here! But we have WiFi and a house phone. We like to define our country home as a place to dream and relax. We care about your comfort and we think we are not only a place to sleep, but a real home for your lovely holidays. The house is 2700 square feet, with 3 private bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (full bath [shower and tub] & a hot steam shower), a large living room with fireplace, flat screen TV with Netflix and Amazon On Demand & DVD player. It has a one-car garage, central air-conditioning and wireless internet. The house also has a clothes washer and dryer, a smoker and BBQ grill, a screened in gazebo, Hallockville Pond just behind the house and 10,000 acres of marked trails to hike and explore.
Sleeping : -2 king size beds, 1 double bed, a queen futon in the living room, an extra queen futon mattress, an inflatable queen mattress, and two couches. Kitchen : -Fully stocked kitchen, microwave, toaster oven, dishwasher, refrigerator and freezer, coffee maker, electric stove and oven, and eat-in kitchen -Smoker BBQ and grill (for use on the patio please) -Everything you could possibly need for breakfast as well as a delightful dinner. Other Amenities: -Wood floors -Iron, Hairdryer, Radio, Harpsichord -TV and DVD player, amplifier with headphone jack -WiFi G Internet -Central air conditioning -Fans -Wood-burning fireplace with wood provided -Pet and kid friendly During major school vacation weeks, holidays and other high demand times (please ask for an offer). In the summer, the house is less than 1 mile from Plainfield Pond, with a kid-friendly sandy beach. Or simply, swim in the lake behind the house. Float down the Deerfield river which runs along the historic Mohawk Trail, on our inner tubes, play croquet on the lawn, BBQ on the patio, or use the row boat behind the house (and life-jackets). Guests are also welcome to eat from our tended tasty organic vegetable garden. In the winter, the house includes cross country skis, snow shoes and wood for the fireplace. The house is 10 minutes to Berkshire East Ski Area.

The house is pretty nice and the setting is great. The whole area was very peaceful and the lake is a really good place to go and relax. Overall, I'd say this is a great house and location for family/friend gatherings. Would definitely rent again.
Loved it!! Great place for a relaxing secluded vacation with interesting books and cookbooks to read, loads of games and movie options and fun kitchen to cook in. Even our dog thought she was on vacation!! Hope to go back next year!
Our stay at the Plainfield home was everything we expected it to be. We loved sharing a family style meal on our first night with the friends who were staying with us in the house. The dining room table was perfect for the three couples who stayed. In addition, the kitchen is warm and cozy, especially on sunny days where the sunlight streams in while you are making breakfast. My partner and I were able to enjoy the trails behind the house and discovered such wonders as a small waterfall and wooden footbridges for meditation. The bedrooms have lovely large beds that you can easily fall asleep in at the end of a long day having adventures in nearby Northampton and other local towns. The bathrooms are also great: very large bathroom for the bedroom on the first floor, and same size bathroom on the second floor that is shared between the upstairs rooms. A perfect visit for sure!
