My husband and I cannot say enough great things about this VRBO property. Upon making our reservation we received detailed instructions regarding the property. The owner was very attentive, calling to make sure we arrived and to ask if we had any questions or concerns, he then gave us privacy to enjoy our vacation. Being able to bring our “furry friend” was a definite plus. The cottage was very clean and well maintained. The pictures and description of the cottage were exactly as stated. The cottage is located at the end of a wooded drive and is very private because of how it sits on the property. There are breathtaking views of the lake from every window. The king size bed was very inviting and comfortable. The sauna was welcoming after fishing all day in the crisp September weather. My favorite was relaxing on the hammock with a good book. The owners were right on with the restaurant recommendations. The leaves were just starting to change, as the week progressed so did the colors. We witnessed a gustnado, a rainbow, and a gorgeous starry night during our stay. We heard the loons, watched eagles soaring, saw wild turkeys on the side of the road, of course lots of deer, and a skunk! We visited Tomahawk, Eagle River, Lake of the Torches Casino and Minocqua. The best part of all is we are already booked for June 2013. I would highly recommend this property.
My husband and I were hoping for a fun and relaxing vacation on a lake and where we wouldn't have to leave our dog behind. We definitely found it here. The cottage is clean and very comfortable. The sparkling clear lake was perfect for daily swims and we enjoyed touring the lake in the paddleboat and fishing boats, watching the loons play. Several hummingbirds were frequent visitors as well. The privacy allowed us to relax in the hammock and enjoy the sauna and outdoor shower. We topped off the evenings sitting in front of a fire. We hope to return again.
Our family of 4 plus 2 small dogs had a wonderful time at Lake Buteau. The beds were very comfortable. The new sleeper sofa and chair were great-also very comfortable. The owners replied to our questions quickly-very helpful and friendly. With water on 3 sides-there was always a nice breeze and beautiful views. We had so many humming birds visit they emptied the feeder in 1 day. We saw/heard the loons many times. I even watched a family of 4 grey foxes across the lake during a paddle boat ride. The lake is the perfect size, an easy swim to shore from any point-perfect for the canoe and row boat. The water is very clear and the swimming was great! The sauna and outdoor shower were a bonus. I would highly recommend this property.
