Property Description
This is no ordinary vacation spot! This log cabin is located in
private wooded valley beside a rippling creek, just minutes from
downtown Bryson City and Cherokee. Nestled in the heart of our area,
Fox Creek Meadowside Cabin is close to all the local attractions.
Whether you are looking for the thrill of a rushing white water
experience on the Nantahala River or a peaceful journey through our
mystic mountains on the Great Smoky Mountains Railway, you are just
minutes away! There are 2 other cabins in the valley, so if you have
a larger group, Fox Creek Cabins may be able to accomodate you. We
are located in a secluded valley in the southern Smoky Mountains, yet
only two miles from the Bryson City grocery stores, restaurants and
shopping. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is just to the
north with scenic drives to Clingman's Dome, Cades Cove, the Blue
Ridge Parkway and the Ocanuluftee Visitor Center just minutes away. A
short drive brings you to Cherokee where your can visit Indian
museums, go shopping for native crafts, enjoy the outdoor drama "Unto
These Hills" or visit the casinos. A scenic drive beyond Cherokee
takes you to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, TN. Nearby is the Great
Smoky Mountains Railroad for an old time scenic ride or dinner train,
the Cheoah, Nantahala or Tuckasegee Rivers for up to Class IV+
Whitewater Rafting or milder "rafting with the kids", horseback
riding stables and the Tsali Recreation Area where you can go
mountain biking in the Nantahala National Forest. For the hiker, the
Appalachian Trail is only 25 miles away at Stecoah Gap. From there
you can go south to Nantahala Gorge or north to Clingman's Dome, the
highest point on the AT in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.
For the boaters and fisherman, Lakes Fontana & Santeetlah offer
fishing, canoeing, kayaking and picnicking. A wide variety of fish
including smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, walleye, crappie, bream
and lake trout can be caught. A marinas offers fuel, bait, tackle,
boat rentals, equipment rentals, boat launching, and dock space. For
those that enjoy driving or cycling on challenging roads, try the
HellBender 28, just 34 miles away beginning at Fontana Villiage and
the famous Tail of the Dragon at Deal's Gap is just 52 miles away.
The scenic Blue Ridge Parkway starts just eleven miles to the north
and you can jump on Cherohala Skyway in less than an hour.
