We rented Crestwood Manor for a bachelor party. There were 12 guys and we just wanted to hang out relax and fish for the weekend. We chose it because the bachelor is in a wheelchair and its a single story (except for the 4 large steps to get into the place. The Good: -5 bedrooms each with 2 beds -4 bathrooms so no waiting to shower -Jacuzzi was hot upon arrival and worked nicely -Small gas grill -huge dining table we were all able to sit around -Decent kitchend - electric appliances, wine fridge (we loaded it with beer) -Dealing with Destination Big Bear (the management co.) was easy and they were quite helpful -Nice fireplace and Big TV in the living room -Foosball table -Had a sauna... we never tried it so don't know if it worked -Plenty of towels and linens were clean enough (motel quality... not 1000 thread count) The So-So: -Furnishings were a little old and tired, felt rustic late 70s early 80s... It was still very comfortable and fine for our needs/expectations. -Could have used a little more seating in the living room (one large sectional was all the seating) The not so good: -The nice sized deck would have been nicer with some patio furniture.. it had a chair or two and a sagging table... a half dozen plastic adirondack chairs from Kmart would be a nice easy addition. -A lot of fans and lights did not work throughout the house... the mgmt co. was aware when I called and cool about it, sent someone out but he was unable to fix... we were fine. -It appears that a previous tenant must have fallen asleep with stuff in the oven as there was broken glass/corning ware in the bottom of the oven and two glass casserole dishes that had burned on caked on nastiness that were tossed in the back of the cabinet... I took a photo and called the mgmt co. so as not to get charged If you want luxury this place ain't it. If you want a reasonable priced place to sleep and hang out during your Big Bear vacay than you should be perfectly satisfied.
