Mtn Views - 5 Star Vacation Home: Snowmobile, Ski, Fish, Hike - 4-bdr - We love staying at Bummy's! There is room for my whole family (4 couples w/ kids)! The cabin is very well stocked, located in the most beautiful area. To top it off it's a short drive to Willamette Pass Ski Resort for a day on the slopes. We have stayed there twice now, and hope for more trips. Date of arrival December 14, 2017
We really enjoyed our short stay in your beautiful cabin in the woods. The drive to Crater Lake is very refreshing. Salt Creek Falls was a one of kind waterfall and it is very close. Cresent Lake is right there and is a must see. We had a wonderful lunch at the lodge on Cresent Lake sitting under huge trees watching the boats and relishing in the fresh breeze. You need to plan a WHOLE DAY for Crater Lake. WOW!!!! is just a starter. Your cabin more than met our needs and we will tell all of our friends that travel about it. Tks., TerryB....
We really enjoyed our stay at Bummy's place! The owners are very responsive and understanding when trying to figure out some technical issues. The house is equipped with plenty of anything you could need, I think the only thing we were wishing for is a fire pit out back ;) Overall, perfect for a big group and everyone enjoyed the house. Great location for visiting the beaches at Crescent Lake, we enjoyed Simax and Tranquil Cove. Thanks so much! Highly recommend! Owner's Response: Thank you for your review! Our cabin is located in a forested setting adjacent to the Deschutes National Forest. Summer is designated with extreme fire danger,, which is why we don't have a fire pit. However, winter months are low fire danger months and we do bring out a fire pit for our guests to use. (Firewood available at the Crescent Lake Sportsman Store/gas station one mile from cabin). We hope you return to experience a winter wonderland at Bummy's Place cabin. We provide sleds and snowshoes.
I am part of four couples who rent a house every February to engage in winter sports and get re-acquainted. In 2017 we rented this property. The house looks new, and is extremely well-appointed and very well supplied with kitchen equipment and other supplies. Working with the owners was also an absolute pleasure. The house is located near snow parks for snow shoeing and cross country skiing. Willamette Pass Ski Resort is also very close if downhill skiing/snow boarding is your preference. Without hesitation we voted to return next February.
This is the third time that my extended family has all come to stay at the cabin, but the first summer visit. We had a great time, as usual. Carrie and Bob provide countless thoughtful touches around the house that make it feel comfortable and home-like. This time, we especially liked lounging on the deck in the comfy chairs, and driving over to Davis Lake for some fishing. Thanks again for your hospitality!
Great cabin. Couldn't ask for anything more. Bonus room is a must!
We had 4 couples stay at the place comfortably. Great TV to watch the Super Bowl. Our trip was for snowmobiling. We had hoped to ride from the property, but due to the low snow conditions we were able to do some nice rides by driving to some of the local snowparks. It is nice to each have our own bedrooms. Very well equipped and set up for our sized group.
This was our family's first stay at Bummy's Place (there's a wonderful story behind the name). With 6 adults and 3 kids (8, 10 and 1-1/2 year old), there was plenty of space for all of us. We rented the house + above garage apartment so us grandparents had privacy and quite space for naps. We had mentioned that we were spending a late Christmas together at the cabin and when we arrived in the evening the cabin was lit up in holiday lights and inside there was a Christmas tree and holiday decorations around the room. We all gathered our gifts around the tree, made hot apple cider and spent a wonderful evening around the fire place opening gifts. Magical! The house is well stocked, cozy and beautiful. The open kitchen with island made it super easy for family members to cook together and the long dining table accommodated all of us at meal time. The table was perfect for board games, drawing, and reading and at times all at once. Though, there wasn't much snow for us the kids were still able to get some sledding in (sleds were available). Everyone really enjoyed bird watching from the dining and living room windows and the 8 year old found the bird book and proceeded to identify every bird that arrived on the feeder or suet. The information sheet that we were given beforehand was really helpful and thorough with info about the cabin and it's surrounding area. Directions were clear and precise and the owners very nice and friendly. The only thing I would recommend if you plan on bringing a little one is to bring outlet covers and a baby gate for the stairs. We brought both and it made our stay less worrisome. The house was pretty much baby proofed with only a handful of small items that we could easily put on a higher shelf. Oh and one last thing, the glass on the fireplace gets hot so we only had fires after the little tyke was in bed for the night. Overall, our stay was fantastic and we'd love to do this again! Thank you for the memories!
The house was great for us to gather our 3 children and their families. Even though we didn't have snow we made a jigsaw puzzle, cooked meals in the well-stocked kitchen and explored the area. The open design contributed to our together time but the loft and room above the garage allowed us privacy as well. The views are outstanding. Overall, it is a place that allowed us to relax as a family.
I couldn't possibly tell you in words what a marvelous time we had. Everything was perfect! I love to cook and the kitchen was so well stocked with every dish and utensil that I'm accustomed to using at home.... even the Ninja Turtle magnets where a reminder of our favorite Saturday cartoons and movies. Seriously my oldest asked if I had brought them lol. God Bless and thanks again for opening up your home to us.
Our family of 5 adults and 2 kids had a blast at Bummy's place. We stayed in the main house only (not the extra room above the garage) and had plenty of room (adult couple + single adult in the 2 bedrooms downstairs and family of 4 upstairs in the loft and bedroom). We skied at Willamette Pass, snowmobiled at Crescent Lake (they have reasonably priced rentals), and sledded right in our own front yard! We cooked all of our meals at home, and the kitchen was well stocked--even beyond what is listed here! We enjoyed the personal touches of the cabin and Carrie's excellent customer service. Would love to return!!
A perfect place for a family Thanksgiving celebration. The cabin is beautiful, well-appointed, and full of things to do -- sleds, snowshoes, music, movies, books, games, and puzzles galore. We had perfect snow, a well-stocked kitchen, and beauty all around us. The sunsets are spectacular from the cabin. The fireplace is cozy, the upstairs loft a perfect place for the kids to play. We hope to make Bummy's Place our Thanksgiving tradition!
