Private Lake Mountain Log Cabin and Cottage on the border of Rumford and Roxbury in the gorgeous Sunday River/ Western Maine Mountain Lakes Region of Maine. Both are mere feet from a 9.5 acre private lake which we own. There are no other structures on the lake. Get away from the complications of everyday life at our private cabins nestled in the rustic mountain lakes region of western Maine. On the last stop on secluded private Swain Farm Rd. you will discover this undisturbed nature's treasure. An outdoorsmen's paradise, Horseshoe Valley Cabins boasts wide grassy/dirt mountain biking, hiking and walking trails located on miles and miles of snowmobile and logging trails. Other features include boating, canoeing, fishing, hunting, swimming, sunbathing, reading, star-gazing and relaxing. Located within a short drive is the more rugged hiking of the Appalachian Trail. The Swift River and Roxbury Pond are a few miles away where you can power boating and other recreational activities. (Daily/weekly rentals of a power boat and trailer are extra). Cabin could sleep 12+ (2 lofts, 5 beds, 6 couches/pull-out couch) and is $650/week, Cottage sleeps 4 and is $400/week. Daily rentals available as well: cabin- $100/day (and $135/day on weekends), cottage- $75/day ($90/day on weekends). We can provide wood/diesel for an additional charge. Also a jetski, trailer and truck available for extra charge to boat in many of the close by lakes. The lake has rainbow trout and salmon. Please bring your own bedding and towels. Cabin is more modern, while cottage is smaller and more rustic and old-fashioned. Both have VCR with many videos. Books and board games provided. Your rental will be home base in the heart of the mountain lakes region of Maine, which boasts a plethora of outdoor Maine activities. (Email us for a map of a sampling of things to do). Enjoy the great outdoors and activities such as canoeing, hiking, walking, grilling, sunbathing, nature watching, etc. Pets welcome! Your cell phone should get good reception.
