Not only did we add 1500 sq. feet of living space and turn the basement into a man-cave of sorts (complete with a Bose system and theater-style seats), but we also remodeled every inch of the pre-existing home. We, likewise, made sure that we capitalized on the AMAZING mountain/lake views and the peaceful, wooded surroundings by building a 1200 sq. ft. porch as well as a fire pit outback--perfect for roasting hot dogs in the Summer and s'mores in the Winter! Because we knew we’d be living in the cabin for an extended period, we decided to avoid the typical moose-head-black-bear-all-pine-wood-extravaganza so often seen in log cabins, and we instead opted to update the look with orange-peel painted walls, hand-carved oak flooring and mossy green cabinetry in the kitchen. Fortunately, the antiquated country feel we were going for paid off! We believe that our slightly modern spin on the log cabin is the right balance between the refreshingly natural getaway we all hope for and the modern amenities we all love to enjoy! We immensely enjoyed Sandy Ridge Cabin as our home for the few years that we lived there and so did many of our family members and friends. Now, it’s your turn! Let Sandy Ridge Cabin be your home away from home. Whether you’re simply looking for a nice place to crash with the kids after a hard day’s work at Dollywood, or you’re just looking for an oasis of rest and relaxation, Sandy Ridge Cabin will undoubtedly meet your every need! Our country cabin is warm and comfortable, cozy and familiar. So, come on in. Welcome home! The Knights

"I'm not even sure where to start. As a fellow cabin rental owner in Gatlinburg i have been visiting the area a lot. we had a bigger group this trip and wanted to change up the scenery. We accomplished that and more after staying here. we had 8 in our group and felt there was enough room to fit plenty more. the pictures just do not do justice for what you are about to walk into. This cabin is HUGE, beautiful, and accommodating. i feel we spent more time on the porch and patio then we did in the inside. the view is so real it looks fake, the location is awesome being away from it all but still being in driving distance to everything like gatlinburg, pigeon forge and douglas lake. the inside of the cabin has everything you need to relax and enjoy your vacation. the basement was a huge hit with a pool table, arcade golf, and the giant big screen theater room with super comfy chairs. the master bedroom is very secluded to the rest of the cabin giving you lots of privacy to the rest of the family or group which is nice. all in all i felt like i was staying at someones personal vacation home vs. a rental property. it was nicely decorated and just an amazing cabin and it was an amazing vacation. Thank you so much for letting us stay and hope to come back again."
"The setting was amazing - pastoral with views of the lake and mountains! What more could one ask for! And the cabin was beautifully decorated to enhance peacefulness, joy, and togetherness. This cabin and setting are top-notch for a family get-together! We are so grateful for such an amazing place to reconnect with family."
Guest: Jay(Danielsville,Ga.) "Our daughter attends Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, TN. We originally chose this cabin because it was less than 20 minutes away from the school and would accommodate our large group. However, when we arrived we found the actual cabin to be much more incredible than the photos online. It boasts a large gathering space due to its open floor plan and awesome front porch. The cabin is also equipped with top of the line amenities and beautifully decorated. The property is clean and well maintained. The owner was easy to contact and quick to respond. We highly recommend this cabin and have already scheduled two more visits." Guest: Family of Five(Strongsville, Ohio) "Stunning cabin, we felt like we were home! We enjoyed it all: the rooms were large, well decorated, comfortable and immaculate. The location was easy to find, away from all the hustle and bustle, yet close enough to the cities sights. The front porch was so inviting, you didn't even want to go back inside. We roasted smores at night, the kids spent much time on the front porch swing, and we all enjoyed watching the neighbor's horses which can be seen right out our windows. This owner was so quick to respond, accommodating and helpful. I've already recommended it to friends and I highly recommend it to you too!" “Everything was perfect and really could not ask for anything better. Very modern cabin tucked away in the hills with fabulous views. Nice open floorplan with large bedrooms and huge game room downstairs. My three kids played for hours outside and when the sun went down could come inside and have the whole downstairs to themselves. Owner communicated very well and was always wanting to do more to make your stay as comfortable as possible. You could not ask for a better location either. Very short drive to the interstate or take the beautiful back roads over to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Looking forward to staying here again in the future!” Recommended for: Age 55+, Adventure seekers, Sightseeing, Families with teenagers, Families with young children, Romantic getaway

dixiepixel Oak Ridge, Tn Review Submitted: February 15, 2011 Date of Stay: December 2010 My family of 10 spent Christmas Eve & Christmas Day (2010) at the cabin. As soon as my family entered the door, they were all very impressed with the cabin (the "WOW's" were non-stop!). The open floor plan is great for the little ones. On Christmas Day, more family members arrived, and we were still very comfortable. The cabin is very easy to locate, but FEELS like you're secluded in the mountains. We were blessed with a white Christmas (which was gorgeous!), and all vehicles made it down the drive with ease. The kids (and adults) loved making s'mores in the fire-pit and watching for Santa off of the HUGE front porch. I would recommend this cabin to anyone! Guest: Celisa(Calhoun, GA ) Date of Stay: 12/17/10 Review Submitted: 12/23/10 "Me and my family really enjoyed the cabin alot. We loved the theater room in the basement. The master bath is very large and gorgeous. The whole Cabin is amazing with alot of room for a small family or large family. The owners are very nice and accomodating. I would recommend this cabin to any and everyone. Me and my family prepared a very large breakfast on Saturday morning and had a great time. The cabin has everything you need including cookware, dishes and silverware. There are also extra linens if needed." Guest: Roger, Gary, Marilyn, Pat(Atlanta) Date of Stay: 11/24/10 Review Submitted: 11/29/10 We really enjoyed the time we spent at your Sandy Ridge Cabin. Everything was more than expected. The cabin was very nicely decorated and had everything we needed to prepare a full Thanksgiving Dinner. Everyone that came for dinner had nothing but praise for how nice the cabin is furnished and decorated. We only regret that we only had 3 days and not more. I really like the fact that the price is inclusive of taxes and everything. Most other places have the rate plus tax, cleaning and sometime other fees. Also a lot of places more than double their rates for the holidays and require 4 nights or more, but we feel that the rates are very reasonable and less than expected for a holiday stay. Guest: Phillips' family(McDnough, GA) Date of Stay: 09/16/10 Review Submitted: 10/13/10 "We've stayed in the cabin a few times now, and it never fails to be the perfect getaway from our hectic Atlanta lifestyle! My wife and our two children joined my mom, brother and his family for a extended weekend in the mountains and we had an incredible time. The entire cabin is really above and beyond what is expected in a rental. Not only is it spacious, super clean, and beautifully decorated, but it is well equipped and very comfortable. Whoever decided to put the HUGE covered porch across the entire front of the house is brilliant and I think it might be a candidate for the Guinness Book of World Records for largest porch on a single family dwelling! We had a great time using the home theater, the fire stove for marshmallows, the kitchen was a joy to cook-in, and it was a perfect getaway for our family. We spent a day at Dollywood, and the rest of our time at the cabin, thanks so much for opening your home to us. It was a pleasure to visit, and we will be back again sometime!" Guest: Theresa(Greenville, SC) Date of Stay: 10/17/10 Review Submitted: 11/09/10 "We were so happy to be there! It is an exceptional place, well maintained, well appointed, and very clean. The beauty of the setting made our week there very relaxing for my husband, who job is very demanding, and also for me. The Owner was very interested in making sure that our stay was the best and I appreciated his efforts. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place to any friend or relative, and already have, as a matter of fact. The location is convenient. It is a peaceful setting, with great views, near the boat ramps at Douglas Lake, and yet close enough to get to the local attractions in Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg in about 25 min-- yet, Far from the Maddening Crowd, I guess one would say, not in distance, but in tranquility." Guest: Brian (TN) Date of Stay: July 1, 2010 Review Submitted: July 9, 2010 "have been staying and vacationing in the Smokey Mountain area for the last 10+ years. This place is by far my new #1. Here are just a few reasons why; 1. Cost I have paid much more and gotten much less! 2. Location I enjoy the atmosphere of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg when I am out and about shopping and seeing the attractions but I don’t enjoy it once I’ve gotten back to my cabin. I am looking for a place to relax with peace and quite. Not hearing some drunk fool screaming out Watch This! To date that has been my biggest downfall with vacations to this area. Its beautiful and well worth the travel time but it always felt like someone was invading my personal space! Until now that is! This place is QUITE and PEACEFUL! No noise unless I chose it. Views of the mountains are amazing and just a very short drive to all the attractions. I also found downtown Dandridge to be very welcoming almost like stepping back in time. 3. Its Clean! I have MAJOR OCD and cant stand to stay anywhere that is not clean! This place was wonderful! 4. Service- Spoke directly with the owner and received Top Notch Service!" Guest: Annie(Pilot, Va. ) Date of Stay: 07/13/09 Review Submitted: 07/11/10 Our stay at the Sandy Ridge Cabin was absolutely wonderful. It was so nice to be able to drink a cup of coffee on the front porch during the morning hours looking out at the mountains. The cabin is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. It was very warm and inviting! I would highly reccomend staying here to all of my friends and family. Guest: Melissa3(Hampton, GA) Date of Stay: 04/02/09 Sandy Ridge Cabin is a beautiful, relaxing place to get away. Two of my friends and I visited there for a vacation one weekend. The scenery is breathtaking, and the cabin is very stylish, roomy, and comfortable. Also, the cabin is extremely clean and well-kept. It was a wonderful vacation, and I would definitely visit again. Guest: Kirk(Lake Butler, FL) Date of Stay: 10/23/09 We loved the spacious rooms, the surround sound theater, and the convenience of shopping in Pidgeon Forge, Sevierville, and Gatlinburg. But our favorite thing is that it had absolutely the most breathtaking view of the Smokies. The lake in the foreground and the fall colors of the mountains were beautiful. We can't wait to go back! Guest: Christina(Tampa, FL) Date of Stay: 04/14/10 My family and I were here this past spring and I couldn't have been more pleased with this home! The cabin is spacious enough to accommodate a large group, but small enough to radiate a cozy feel. The front porch, a personal favorite, provides an incredible view and the surrounding area is just peaceful. The property was clean and well-maintained, inside and out, and the owners were very helpful and friendly. Dandridge clearly has a country, small-town atmosphere, which was the perfect get-a-way location for us big-city folks. Enjoy! Guest: Trisha(Atlanta, GA) Date of Stay: 06/07/10 My husband & I had an amazing time staying at the Sandy Ridge Cabin. The views were breathtaking from the huge front porch. It's a nice place to get away and relax while enjoying the beautiful mountains that surround the cabin. The Knight's were such a wonderful couple to allow us to stay at their place and we would highly recommend this to others as we will be visiting there again soon! Guest: Jason R. Date of Stay: 03/12/10 The cabin was perfect! It is close enough to Pigeon Forge for shopping and a short drive for me and the guys to take a hike in the Smokies up Alum Cave Trail to Mt. LeConte for some camping and backpacking. The mountains in front of the house were covered in snow, and the ladies were able to see where we were on Mt. LeConte from the front porch even though we were at over 6000 feet elevation. There are enough restaurants close by for any taste-BBQ, Chinese, Japanese, and some great burgers. The theatre room, plasmas, and fire pit sealed the deal for me while my girlfriend loved the dining area, kitchen, and master bath. :) We had a great time! I can't wait for our next trip up to enjoy some lake fun and good times on that front porch. Thank you Knights! Jason R.
