Welcome to San Russ Point on Edisto Island! As they say: location, location, location! Located on a peninsula between Sand Creek and Russell Creek, this property enjoys wonderful breezes not found inland. You will enjoy this isolate natural location. If you like bird watching you are likely to see bald eagles sitting in the trees, wood storks, woodpeckers and many kinds of water birds. If you like sitting on the dock and fishing you can catch a variety of fish right off of our dock. You will see dolphins swimming down Russell Creek and are welcome to use our sea kayak to paddle though small inlets that lead into the marsh. Perhaps you would like to go crabbing off of the dock (best in summer)? If you like to walk you can go a mile down a dirt road and only see five houses – you see lots of wilderness. Down the road are large ponds that have lots of wildlife. Better than a typical beach vacation, our guest house provides access to the unique nature and beauty of the Low Country’s rich tidal creeks and marshes, as well as easy access by car to Edisto Island’s historic landmarks, State Parks and local sites. Bring your boat to enjoy fishing, water sports, and remote beaches, utilizing our boat ramp and deep-water dock. The Atlantic Ocean and Bohicket Marina are a short 20-minute boat ride away. It is 10 miles to Edisto Beach down highway 174. There is a good farmers market a short drive, as well as a very good seafood store to buy shimp if you do not want to catch them yourself. More is available at our site edistohouse. Bring your bikes and a kayak/canoe to fully explore land and sea. Enjoy leisurely walks down country roads and forest paths. Or simply relax in the sun or shade with a glass of iced tea. San Russ Point gives you access to the best of the South Carolina Low Country. Local attractions include historic churches and plantations; Edisto Beach and State Park; seasonal treats such as the Edisto Island Serpentarium, Bingo at the Lions’ Club, and blueberry picking; the ACE Basin; Cypress Gardens; and of course, the beautiful town of Charleston.
