Wilks Holiday house, Cairns City, is a traditional Queenslander home of great character which has been modernised with new bathrooms and a new kitchen. A large tropical back garden with fruit trees is a great area for children as it is private and fully fenced. The house is airconditioned for our hot summer months and a solar hot water system provides you with masses of energy efficient hot water. Austar TV (satellite) and wireless broadband internet are provided along with free local telephone calls. Wilks House is within easy reach of Earlville shopping centre and is only a five minute drive to the city centre. Cairns beaches are all to the north of the city. The nearest is about 15 mins away. However, right next to the city centre on the Esplanade is the wonderful Cairns Lagoon. This is a huge saltwater pool with life guards on duty and a shallow section for small children. Free exercise classes, water aerobics and yoga are provided by the council at the esplanade during the week. Birdwatching is a popular pastime along the boardwalk.
