We are a small Inn/Motel type place that is mom and pop run but with a unique characteristic of floating atop of water. We strive to give our guests the best and most relaxing stay while at our Inn. We are centrally located in Key Largo at mm103 very close to a lot of activities. Pennekamp Park is only 1/4 mile away and has the best beaches Key Largo has not to mention coral reef tours, diving, fishing, boat rentals, kayaking, and anything else you can think about being on the water. We also have our own private beach and picnic area which includes picnic tables, lounge chairs, bar-b-que grills and all this free to our guests. Next door to us is a "locals" restaurant for you dining convenience offering great breakfasts and a terrific friday night fish fry. Right across our only hwy is the Pink Plaza to do shopping. I have to apologize because we are from Oregon and the other Oregon reviewer was way off base. We started our Florida Keys vacation at the Floating Inn and Rosetta was a wonderful hostess and went out of her way to make us feel welcome from her husband bringing our luggage up tot he top deck to ice for our sitting outside and watching the sunrise. I mean how much time do you spend in your room when you are on vacation? we sat on the deck and soaked in the on the water experience. her two children are delightful and there was never any noise except the water lapping at the boat. I have chronic insomnia and I slept like a baby on their big bed. The room was very clean. Yes it is no frills, but we didn't want any foo-foo amenities that you end up paying for and not using. She is a great hostess and you will not regret staying here.
The managment is great! The hotel has the best view right from your bedroom. Great fishing Bruce and Rossanna make you feel right at home . Close to stores.Perfect vacation.Will be back soon! Paul
Enjoyed are stay at the Floating Inn, clean with friendly staff that goes out of their way to make your stay enjoyable.Enjoyed the use of their dock for boating, fishing and diving, with their various types of BBQ 's for cooking your catch. Would recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay that is out of the way, to enjoy the Keys laid back life style.
Based on prior reviews I decided to stay here while in Florida for a race week-end and I'm happy to say that couldn't have made a better choice! The hotel is charming in a comfortable and rustic sort of way and the owners make you feel valued & welcome; the views are fantastic (watching the sun rise over the tip of my toes is an experience I won't soon forget!); the location convenient; and is right across the parking lot from a fantastic breakfast/lunch spot. When I get back in the area I plan on staying again! My goal is to bring friends / family with and rent out all the rooms!
Great family we arrived at 1 am and Rossana was there with a smile and helped us settle in. Great value and place to stay Fishing great sit on your own little piece of land and do your best...It really is a floating but dont worry it will not rock it is protected from waves. They took great care of my wife and eye and was their to help whenever we needed it. Their is a resteraunt across the street great breakfast and really the only ones there are locals so cheap...and good. It is a good place for someone on a budget....
wir waren auf der durchreise richtung key west und haben spontan dieses hotel gefunden.die vermieter waren ausserordentlich herzlich, offen, freundlich und hilfsbereit . wir wohnten in einem kleinen, gemütlichen, soeben renovierten zimmer . es war alles vorhanden inkl. mikrowelle, kaffeemaschine, kaffee, tv, A/C, heizkörper (wir kamen gerade nach einer seltenen kaltfront). wir waren sehr überrascht wie sympathisch die lage auf einem hausboot mit dem ganzen rundherum sein konnte. in der früh erwartete uns "oceanside" ein wunderschöner ausblick auf den sensationellen sonnenaufgang, das weite meer und einige mangrovenwälder in der ferne. kritisch könnte (für behinderte, dicke oder ältere-gebrechliche personen) lediglich der aufstieg mit grossem gebäck zu den zimmern sein, da man über eine rel. steile, schmale holztreppe in die zimmer gelangt. man hat ost-, süd- und westseitig ein herrliches ruhiges panorama und auch die möglichkeit in der liege im sand zu liegen, baden zu gehen oder zu grillen. wir würden jederzeit wieder diese wunderschöne unterkunft mit der sympathischen familie besuchen und können dieses "floating inn" jedem wärmstens empfehlen!!!
