Keauhou Punahele is a nice upscale condo complex with private swimming pool, bbq areas and jacuzzi with cabana. Keauhou-Kona Country Club...you are right in the middle between fairways...peaceful, quiet and serene. Really beautiful setting and views. Just a short stroll to the beautiful KEAUHOU BAY for swimming, kayaking, snorkeling boats, and park. Some of the best snorkeling on the island is about 1/2 mile down the street at Kahulu'u Beach Park, with big green sea turtles hanging about on shallow reefs teaming with colorful fish, great for beginners and non swimmers too.
Just a short drive up the the Keauhou Shopping Center with local farmers market every Saturday mornings.. KTA grocery with bank, Post Office, Keauhou theater with several top run movies, a handful of excellent restaurants, and boutique shops.and more. From here you can take a trolley shuttle into Kailua-Kona town about 6 miles away, with waterfront shops, restaurants and lots of fun. Or take a fantastic snorkeling tour right from Keauhou Bay! Keauhou is located at the base of Mt. Hualalai, and this hillside is home to most of the KONA COFFEE industry, and many Macadamia Nut farms and fruit growers.
About 85 miles south makes a nice drive to see Volcanos National Park. Check the web for current information. From here drive down the other side of the mountain through fern and orchid forrests, and up north of Hilo to visit exquisite waterfalls and rainforests.
