We have four rental houses. Our property straddles the Gila River, so there is complete river access. Perfect for hiking, rafting, bird watching, star gazing, horseback riding, or fishing. These houses are off of the highway and secluded. Just a few miles from the Wilderness, and 30 minutes outside Silver City. The small town of Gila is true rural living with a post office, community center with tennis courts and a basketball court. We also have a library and Senior Citizen Center. Each house is completely furnished, and we offer daily, weekly and monthly rates. The smaller cabin has a large fenced yard and a lockable kennel for dogs. The Pond Cabin is situated on the stream and nearby pond, and is unique and quaint. The Lanehouse is the pink adobe that has the modern convenienes of a dishwasher and a washer and dryer. The Stewart House is the largest of the four with two bedrooms and an additonal sunroom with a single bed, fireplace, dishwasher, washer and dryer, and fenced yard.
We have stables, large grazing field, and room for horses. Please contact us for stable rates. We also offer mule rides and mule driven buggy rides.

We stayed three weeks in the Gatehouse on Bear Paw Ranch in Gila, NM. The cabin was a rustic log cabin, well equipped and totally adequate for a couple with a dog. There is a loft in addition to the queen sized bed in the main floor bedroom. The fenced yard was much appreciated for our dog and cat. There was so much nature to explore in the Gila Nat. Forest as well as the history of the Old West in all directions from Pinos Altos where Judge Roy Bean had a store to Silver City where Billy the Kid was born, we were never bored. The owner, Rose Shoemaker, was very accommodating and manages the properties as well as the ranch. We felt we received excellent accommodations for the price and plan to return.
