Spread out and enjoy this 3 BR/2BA house on a 1/2 acre. This house is at a 3,700 foot elevation, with cool temperatures and in the middle of a native Hawaiian forest full of Ohia and giant fern trees. This cool elevation is a great way to beat the heat and enjoy summertime in Hawaii or come during winter to see snow at the tops of Mauna Loa and/or Mauna Kea. Located a mile from Volcanoes National Park entrance, you'll find this park to be one of the most unique national parks with many displays, hiking trails, lava tubes, steam & sulfur vents. You can see how fresh lava covers the land and the process of nature and plants taking it back. There's a multitude of things to do within a 30-45 minute drive of this house - see the exotic black sand beach with basking endangered sea turtles, visit the only rainforest zoo in the U.S., waterfalls, geothermally heated tidepools and so much more. This house was built in 2006 and newly furnished as a vacation home. New & clean with comfortable beds, quality linens, warm blankets and space heaters for each bedroom. Fire up the wood-burning stove on chilly nights to warm up the whole house. Enjoy cooking in the well-stocked kitchen with a gas stove. The dining table seats up to 8 with room for 5 more at the kitchen peninsula. A dishwasher makes clean up easy. The quaint town of Volcano has a few markets and is home to a Thai restaurant, the Lava Rock Cafe, Kiawa Kitchen and the Kilauea Lodge Restaurant. A farmer's market with fresh produce, hot coffee, pastries and breakfast sandwiches is open Sundays from 6:30 - 9 a.m. The Volcano Golf & Country Club serves breakfast and lunch seven days a week. Enjoy a round of golf for $63. The back nine has several marvelous holes and one of Hawaii's best par-5s at the 17th hole. Wildlife enthusiats may see native Hawaiian birds, wild turkeys, Nene geese, quail and Hawaiian hawks in the area. The Volcano Winery has several unusual wines.

This house is in a great location to visit the national park and the Hilo side of the island. The house was clean and comfortable. The kids were especially happy to have a Wii with games to play. The neighborhood was quiet, and Volcano is a nice small town. In our week long stay we tried all of the restaurants and were happy with all of them. We also enjoyed the farmer's market Sunday morning. Don't miss hiking to the active lava flow. Only an hour drive away to the parking area - well worth it!
If you want to stay in a beautiful home and live in paradise, then this is the house. It is so quiet at night and peaceful. The house is the best ever. Fully stocked and clean. Not far from a variety of activities. The owner is great. Easy to get in touch with and answers questions and concerns promptly. When we go back, for another vacation we will definitely want to stay here again. The price can't be beat either for everything that is included. Paradise!!!!!!
