We were three families and so as far as space went, this fit the bill! The Craigslist ad my husband initially responded to indicated that it had a pool table. We thought that and the hot tub would be great, since some of the kids go to bed early and the adults could stay up later and socialize. Not the case...no pool table and no ping pong table that we could find. The only ways to access the hot tub was through one of the bedrooms downstairs (both occupied with sleeping children) or going out the front door and trying to get to the back of the house without falling or freezing in the snow. We arrived on a Thursday evening and a few of us were counting on using the WiFi to work a bit on Friday - The loft should be closed off - the stairway is rickety and none of us felt safe trying to get up there. There were plenty of towels and linens and they may have been luxury at one point...but they are all thin (sheets) and scratchy (towels) at this point. Finally, we paid a $200 cleaning fee - but the check out procedure asks that you wipe down all counters, wash/dry/fold ALL linens/towels, and take out trash...I'm not sure what the cleaning crew is doing for all that money aside from vacuuming? Oh, and one of our guests found some short mystery black hairs in their bed before going to sleep the first night (dog/animal...pubic...who knows). The only reason this home got two stars is because the rental company was a dream to work with and the location was ideal for our needs.
We loved this house. It was clean, affordable and met all of our needs for a group of 13. The house has four bedrooms and a loft, a hot tub out back and plenty of bedding/towels for everyone. It's ideally located about 10 minutes from Homewood Ski Resort and across the street from Tahoe National Forest. We took hikes in the snow through beautiful meadows just a few minutes from the house. Definitely plan to rent again.
We rented the cabin for 8days and had a wonderful time. We had a large group and there was lots of room for all of us. The teenagers loved the hot tub, loft, flatscreen TV and riding their mountain bikes on the nearby trails. We spent time at the beachfront that comes with the rental, riding our bikes along the paved lakeshore trails and just relaxing. Great vacation!!
