The cabin is located partially up a little mountain and is private but convenient to civilization. There are hiking trails to the top of the little mountain, with spectacular long-range views in spots. Two ponds are located nearby on the premises; pond chow is provided for feeding the pampered fish, and occasionally guests will ask to catch/release... at least until they see the size of the catfish! The main room of the cabin features a lofted ceiling, furnished kitchen, dining area, ceiling fan, heater/ac unit, phone, reading lights, and full-size futon with overstuffed pillows and cozy throws. The kitchen includes a stove, fridge, microwave, 2 small coffee makers, toaster, pots and pans, dishes, and utensils. There are also assorted teas, hot chocolate, and popcorn. There is a separate bedroom with lofted ceiling, loft storage, queen-size bed, bathroom, satellite TV/DVD/VCR (movies provided), ceiling fan, reading lights, and a long-range ‘sunset’ view. The cabin has a covered front porch (with a popular hummingbird feeder in the summer!), deck along the side and across the back, and a view of sunsets, stars, and some of Ashe County’s breathtaking scenery.
