Looking for heaven on earth? A nice peaceful vacation spot? A quiet get-away for two? Or a fun family hangout? How about our condo we named CASITA MAVISU after the blue waters of the Caribbean Sea? a roomy 2 bedroom – 2 bath condominium on the white sand beach in friendly Puerto Morelos, Mexico. We are on the second floor of a private complex called CASITA BLANCA unit number C4. The water is turquoise and blue, shallow along the beach and has minimal waves due to the second largest reef in the world right outside the door. If you prefer, there is also a beautiful pool. Both the pool and beach have lounge chairs to relax and soak up the sun. The beach is usually uncrowded and great for walks at any time of day. Get your exercise without feeling like you are exercising at all.
Puerto Morelos is a quaint fishing village with a Town Square, small shops and lots of great restaurants. There is a grocery store, daily fresh seafood market, and a “farmers” market once a week with fresh fruits and vegetables. The town itself offers great snorkeling, diving, fishing, swimming, sunning, eating and drinking. It is quiet and peaceful without the tourism and crowds of the big all-inclusive resorts. And the people who live and work here, could not be more friendly.
Need a little more excitement? If you want nightlife and the “big city,” Cancun and Playa del Carmen are just 20 minutes away by car, taxi or bus. Also just a short distance away is ancient Mayan ruins, Xcaret, Tulum, and other wonderful attractions.
We are located on the north end of Puerto Morelos (in town) - just a 10 minute leisurely walk to town via the beach or road. Our unit sleeps 4 comfortably and has all the comforts of home including a kitchenette with microwave and coffee maker, TV, air conditioning, and beach towels for your use. We provide unlimited purified water, maid service during the week and free Wifi for those people who just can’t seem to totally get away from it all. The managers office is on-site. They are helpful and speak both Spanish and English.
We guarantee that once you visit Puerto Morelos, you will want go back again, and again, and again . . .

First of all, the owner of the condo, Hakki, is the nicest man you will ever meet. He is reliable, courteous, honest and so kind. When making arrangements to stay in the condo, Hakki, responded to all of my emails and answered all of my questions within the same day. He provided me with recommendations on restaurants, activities and hotel and area maps. The condo itself is lovely and spacious. It is located directly on the beach with a beautiful view of the ocean. The condo also contains all of the ammenities that you will ever need including a flat screen tv, silverware, dishes, glasses, plates, towels, hairdryers, hammock, radio, alarmclock, A/C, etc. The peolpe that live in the town are friendly and very warm. Even though I am a female and travelled solo, I always felt safe and secure at all times, even when walking at night. I also loved the restaurants and small shops in the nearby town. Everything you need is within a 5-10 minute walk from the condo. Thank you so much Hakki for everything!!!
We are not big world travelers, but have collectively been to Mexico well over twenty, perhaps thirty, times and our week spent at Casita Mavisu (in Casita Blanca) was so relaxing and enjoyable. We were both celebrating our 25th wedding anniversaries and found the accommodations to be clean, safe and comfortable. Puerto Morelos is a small, quaint community, with some of the best restaurants we have ever eaten at. Hakki (the owner) gave us some great recommendations, including Pelicanos, La Playita, La Panza es Primero, Spaghettino (the best lasagna!), and David Lau's. Our favorite was recommended by another guest we met on the beach, and we highly recommend it to future visitors -- you must go to Al Chimichurri -- their empanadas, pizzas, and steaks were wonderful! We also patronized the Unico Bar on the beach adjacent to the condo. Very friendly service and the best appetizer/lunch we have ever had -- you must try the aguacate relleno de atun -- avocado stuffed with tuna -- delicious! And we discovered the Little Mexican Cooking School just down the road that serves a scrumptious Sunday brunch. We bought some groceries and beverages in town so that we could take a break from the sun and enjoy breakfast, lunch and happy hour on the deck, watch the cruise ships go by, and check in with loved ones back home (thanks to the WiFi). Because we've been to the Yucatan before, we did not go into Cancun or Playa, we did not go to the ruins, nor the big adventure parks. We simply relaxed on the beach, read our books, walked the beach, met some wonderful people from all around the world, snorkeled one day, saw some beautiful sunrises, and were thankful for the stiff breeze that thwarted off the mosquitos. Muchas gracias por todo! 5/2/12 Phil & Lisa, Savage, MN and Evan & Marybeth, Inver Grove Heights, MN
Clean and comfortable unit in well kept complex right on the beach. Great location, close enough to walk to town, but also on a more peaceful part of the beach. We loved Puerto Morelos and felt like we got to see the real Mexico & meet the locals. Great restaurants, very reasonable prices and friendly people. Renting a car for a day was a great way to go down to Tulum and see the ruins and cenotes. Roberto, the manager of the complex, is super friendly very helpful with information about the area. Would highly recommend this spot for a vacation.
We absolutely loved our vacation in PM. The accommodations were great for our family of four. We especially enjoyed - hearing the waves from our bedroom & balcony, the steady breeze, perfectly sized waves for our kids (ages 4 & 6), the soft sand, the walk into town, the food in town, the beach bar happy hour, snorkeling, kayaking and lounge chairs for relaxing . We appreciated the small size of PM, the local flavors and friendliness and most of all the quietness.
My friends and I stayed at Casita Mavisu in September 2009 and had the best time! It was the perfect condo with the added bonus of being so close to the beautiful beach! The location is wonderful for a meal downtown or just a short walk down the beach. We also made a few trips to the grocery store which made fixing a meal or two really convenient. We also had the treat of the upstairs neighbors (the awesome chef Antonio and his wife Anna) fixing us a wonderful meal one night. We alternated from the pool to the beach everyday, pretty much all day! It was fantastically relaxing, not a worry to be had. The extra bonus was the small beach bar about 100 feet away from the condo...the owner Sarah and the other bartenders were so much fun!! We were lucky enough to be there for the Mexican Indepence Day celebration downtown Puerto Morelos, it was such a fun experience! Casita Mavisu is the perfect place if you are looking for a relaxing, fun, not over-run by tourist location. I would recommend this condo to any of my friends!!! Thank you Hakki & Susan!!
Hello HakkiThis has been the most incredible vacation we have ever taken we were at casita Mavisu for eleven glorious days. The Condo had us at Hello. Roberto and his wife were so accommodating. There to answer any questions, or help were ever there was need. The grounds and pool are very well managed and then they set this condo on the most beautiful beach I have ever seen. White sand for miles the weather was so great and we were there the end of June beginning of July.We could walk right out on to the beach and start snorkeling from shore, we went to the Left of the condo, the sea as calm as could be, my seven year old daughter felt totally at home in the water right in front of the condo. Snorkeling in just 3 feet of water we saw sea horses crabs. Sand dollars queen helmet shells an array of tropical fish. There was a school of fish that would surround us it was like they were massaging us and yet never ever touched us. We saw a spotted eagle ray that just glided right by us like a big kite. The looks on my daughter’s faces were priceless. The restaurants were all great we did not have a bad meal the entire time we were there. the margaritas were so tasty. I have scuba dived in many parts of the world and I had the special treat to have my daughter certified with Brett at dive in Puerto Morelos. So we went diving on the reef and we also did a cenote dive, which was incredible. Brett is a total pro at what he does. These are memories my family often reminisce about and can’t wait to come back to. Hakki sent us info on places to see and places to eat at and enjoy. our vacation could not have been any better. I could go on and on about the great time my family had and the great people we met. We walked on the beach at night from our condo to town. The Locals were very helpful and friendly we were never pressured to purchase things by venders. And yet if we had questions they were totally approachable and would help us find that special store, restaurant or a simple a bathroom. We loved it and are definitely coming back!Hakki Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!The Kukacka Family from MinnesotaGeorge, Mel, Andrie and Alison
Casiat Mavisu was all we had anticipated it to be. Beautiful beaches with sand that feels like powder it is so fine. The ocean water was spectacular! I counted 7 different shades of blue. The snorkeling was fantastic. We saw a stingray, sea turtle, barracuda and many others sea creatures with their bright brilliant colors. The guides were wonderful and took us to 3 different locations. It has the world’s second largest barrier reef right outside your condo. The condo was very inviting and comfortable. There were 4 women on this trip and we never felt like we were in each others way. Our days consisted of waking to the birds chirping, a singing carpenter (who was very good), having breakfast, going to the beach, back to the condo for lunch, going back to the beach and getting cocktail from the little beach bar which is about 100 feet way! By then we were exhausted and needed a nap. Then it was time to get ready for dinner. We walked into town every night fro dinner. The restaurants all had wonderful food, everything was fresh and well prepared. The service was fantastic. The people that live and work in this little village are all friendly, patient and kind with a great sense of humor. We would stop at the grocery store and pick up s few items for breakfast and lunch the next day and return to the condo. There is a night life out there but we were too exhausted by the end of the day. Don’t forget to try the coconut ice cream with Kahlua! It is fantastic! We know that we could’ve been more adventurous but we really just wanted to relax and enjoy sometime off from our hectic lives. It worked! I am usually ready to get back home that was not the case on this trip. I would’ve liked to have spent another week. We are all hoping to return next year!Penny from Rosemount, MNMelissa from Chicago, ILJessica from Chicago, ILMandi from Owatonna, MN
This was our second time at Casita Mavisu and like the first time, everything was perfect. Condo was fully equipped from A to Z: Towels, unlimited purified water, maid service, kayaks, even a BBQ for our. steaks ans seafood.Puerto Morelos is the best kept secret on the Riviera Maya and Casita Mavisu is definitively one of the reason why !! Thank You for these great vacations. Alain & AnnMonteal, Quebec (Canada)P.S.: We look forward to go back again in a very near future.
Wow...What a location. My wife and I were looking for a somewhat private/tropical location to Honeymoon, this was it. The taxi from Cancun was sooo quick and easy. Puerto Morelos was exactly what we were looking for(friendly, not overrun with tourists.) There was excellent food to choose from and the snorkeling could not be any better. The condo has a nice privacy fence and is run by a very helpful English speaking man. And yes, it really is on the beach..and yes, there really is a bar on the beach 200 yards away!! Thanks for letting us rent your wonderful spot.
Thank you very much for one of the most relaxing vacations we have ever taken. We greeted each morning with a nice run down the scenic beach and a refreshing swim in the calm ocean all before breakfast. Evenings were another wonderful surprise as we experienced dining from so many different parts of the world. We ate some wonder meals complimented by some nice wines. We will definitely return to this quiet and relaxing get-away soon.Steve and Carol.
