If your family is looking for your own pivate escape, you've found it. We're from Minneapolis but vacation here year 'round because we love it so much. We rent it out just a few weeks per year to help pay for the property taxes. :)

You and your family will love our 400 feet of private lake shore, a powdery sand beach, and a crystal clear lake that's great for swimming and even better for fishing. We have a paddle boat, inner-tubes, and a private, brand new dock. Boat, jet-ski, and canoe rentals are nearby. Our gradually sloping property and water depth is great for children. The water gradually deepens and is 5-6 feet deep at the end of the dock.
The entire 3000sf lake home interior is finished with beautiful bass wood on the walls and vaulted ceiling and has custom made pine furniture throughout. The master bedroom with a king size bed and bathroom is in the loft and overlooks the main floor kitchen and living room. There is also a small bedroom in the loft with two cribs. (We have twins!) The kitchen and entire house is fully stocked with everything you will need. The third bedroom with two twin beds and a separate, full second bathroom are also on the main floor. The fourth bedroom with bunk beds and trundle bed is in the full, finished walk out basement. The fifth bedroom is also in the basement that has a wondefully peaceful view of the lake and has a queen and a twin bed in it. There are two living room areas that have a large flat screen TV with cable, over 150 current movies/DVDs, a grand piano, and an incredible panoramic view of the lake. This spacious but cozy lake home is surrounded by a huge deck that overlooks 1500+ acre Lake Belle Taine. The lake is just 20 yards away.
Our lake home is at the end of a peninsula, gets no drive-by traffic, and has thick mature trees throughout our property so that you have total privacy. We are one mile from the Heartland Trail (50 miles of paved trail!), and we are just minutes away from many great restaurants, horseback riding, the Forestedge winery, canoe outfitters, golf and unique shopping. After a day of fun you can light up a camp fire in the fire pit and watch the sunset. If you need to login, we have fast, high speed wireless internet.

We take a “family vacation” once a year that includes our 4 children (ages 13 years to 30 years old, 3 grandchildren ages 1 year to 7 years old). Trips have included Florida, Maine, Gulf Shores, Myrtle Beach & San Diego – our time spent on Lake Belle Taine was voted #1 vacation by all of us! Some of our “favorite things” this week included fishing off the dock, catching minnows with fishing nets (lots of kid toys), milling around the lake in the paddleboat & kayaks, wrap around toddler friendly deck, the morning bike ride to the bakery in Nevis for donuts and of course the sandy beach where most of our time was spent. We had a pontoon boat delivered to the public dock and were able to enjoy tubing and sunset cruises – where we saw a bald eagle on the island! This was our third vacation on Lake Belle Taine, but our first at this beautiful home and it was by far our best one yet! The house is perfect for an extended family...we had 8 adults and 2 children under the age of 3 and there was plenty of room for everyone. We started each morning with a trip to one of the numerous golf courses in the area. After a nice supper in one of the many local restaurants, we spent the nights by the fire enjoying the stars. There were so many toys for our grandson to play with both in the house and on the beach that he was never bored. We had many bald eagle sightings in the trees right above the beach. This is the perfect house, in the perfect area, on the perfect lake! - Lee. J

A poem from the Knodel family! What a splendid place to stay -- a perfect spot to relax & play . The woods, the water, sand & sun -- the stars above when the day is done. The call of the loons and bald eagles too -- herons soaring into view. A safe abode for our four little tots – immersed in nature to broaden their thoughts, While the grown-ups all sat back and ate – played and ate and stayed up late. A week where we could clear the mind – respite to let one’s soul unwind. It’s true that simple things are best – for past vacations gave less rest. So as our visit nears its end -- our heartfelt thanks we must extend, To the O’Neills who have found – this little piece of God’s playground. Thank you!!
