This lovely year-round log home is located on ten wooded acres, with a running brook, and a pond that comes with a kayak.
A family of beavers can sommetimes be spotted in the pond at sundown. The large wrap-around deck is wonderful for sunning, reading, outdoor dining or star-gazing. First floor: kitchen, dining area, "great" room with sliding doors to the deck, fireplace, bedroom and a full bath. Second floor: two bedrooms and a full bath w/Japanese-style soaking tub. Winter, Summer, Spring or Fall, A perfect location for families!

Our family of five loved staying here. It was a quiet place to unwind after busy days exploring Acadia. The three teenage girls liked having personal space and had fun discovering all of the moose. (I think they had Morris posed in a different place every morning.) We ate most of our meals here and found every thing we needed in the kitchen. We didn't hear another person in the evenings which was a great break from the tourist crowds but it is so centrally located, it never took long to get where we were going.

My husband and I rented the cabin along with my brother and his wife and our two friends from England. This property worked perfectly -- we were able to visit, go on walks together, enjoy the beautiful quiet surroundings plus it was very close to fun Bar Harbor activities. We were amazed how thoughtfully appointed this property was ! Even a crock pot ! We hope to return soon !
This home is a gem! It is as close as you can get to Acadia and Bar Harbor while still being wonderfully secluded! The home is extremely well constructed and appointed. Kitchen has all you would ever need to cook your own meals if you feel like it. Rooms are comfortable and quiet. Great room has cathedral ceiling with exposed beams. Huge windows let in the natural light with quilts to cover them if you wish. Great wrap-around porch and private pond. Wonderful place to return to after a day out hiking in Acadia. Highly recommended!!
A friend and I just spent 4 nights here and we loved every minute of it. The house is spotless, and large enough to hold a family with kids, but also great for 2 or 3 adults traveling together who want to be able to retreat to their own spaces occasionally. The large balcony-like porch is great for sitting and watching the light change on the pond. It's well equipped, and the setting is lovely--off in the woods enough to feel secluded but close enough to town to shop, and to the Hull entrance to Acadia to make the whole park accessible.
We rented this cabin for the first time. We have been going to MDI for 25 years and this was one of the best rentals yet. The cabin was more than expected and decorated with many moose that my grandkids LOVED!! It is a little off the beaten path but near all you want to see! The pond and kayak kept my grand daughter entertained finding frogs, turtles etc. The kitchen was well equipped with all we needed and the great room was a place to relax. I will consider renting again.
