Nearby Attractions: - Within several blocks, downtown Elkader features an historic Opera House with frequent performances, antique shops, biking/walking trails, and canoe rentals. There are also a number of public golf courses, a riverboat casino on the river at Marquette, and state parks and nature centers nearby.
I am a hesitant B&B person, but this place has converted me! So incredibly private and beautifully appointed. Everything was so neat, clean and new. We stayed in the Sun Room. Very nice continental breakfast brought to the outer room of our suite the next morning - we didn't have to leave our suite and go downstairs to a dining room. A very comfortable bed and lovely furnishings. Such a friendly and helpful owner! I normally don't choose B&B's because I don't like the feeling that I'm staying in someone's home, but this didn't have that feeling. It was very private indeed. I will consider looking at B&B's from now on!
