Located in the BEST location in the quaint community of CARDIFF by the SEA, (Encinitas, CA), this cozy/cute and a bit rustic cottage has all the charm of a summer vacation get-away built in the late 40's to early 50's. This private 2 B/R 1 bath free-standing cottage sits on its private yard on San Elijo Ave. Most affordable North Cnty beach rental you will find!!! Importance: THERE ARE NO HOMES, STRUCTURES, TREES OR anything else that obstructs the 180 degree pacific ocean and whitewater views. The ocean breakers are so incredible, you may actually have to shut windows at night to dampen the ocean's ROAR! Unobstructed white water and beach views; just south of Swami's surf break and across from Pipes--you can see them both from the front porch, living room, kitchen, and MBR. This is the surfer mecca in Southern CA. You can grab your board and scramble across road and be on beach in the ocean in 5 minutes. It is a short 5-7 minute drive to Del Mar Racetrack and is within walking distance of an incredible market and deli, restaurant row and a few Italian restaurants that are the BEST in north county. DONT DRINK AND DRIVE when you can walk to and from. Master B/R features an ocean view and king elevated bed. 2nd bedroom has garden view and queen bed. There is 32" TV, Stereo, DVD, HBO, wireless internet. Cute kitchen w/ mircowave, dishwasher etc. Washer and dryer are in garage. There is parking for 1-2 vehicles and plenty of parking on west side of street. We had a great and relaxing time! Not much swell came in during our stay but had some fun surf sessions during the first few days overall. Stayed for 7 days and my wife and I were so happy we found this gem right in front of a picture perfect panoramic view of the ocean! Thank you for the accommodation, your cottage was great Brent! If you're looking for a spectacular view and location at a very reasonable price, then this is where you want to stay. Our family of four (with two kids) really enjoyed our time here. Dad (me) likes to surf so I was delighted that this place was a five minute walk from "Pipes", a well known North County surf spot. In fact, you can check out the surf from the living room! It's not a luxury hotel, but it's clean. What's also nice is you won't be nickeled and dimed with this charge, that surcharge, etc. No hidden fees or taxes. Did I mention the view is spectacular?
My family of four, plus a dog, stayed at Brent's beautiful Cardiff Cottage for almost three weeks in August 2012. It is a bit rustic, but in a really good way! It had absolutely everything we needed including comfy beds, room for the kids and dog to play, and best of all spectacular location. You have a 180 degree view of the ocean and can check the waves from the front porch. Grab your board, and you can walk to the beach in about 3 minutes! It was an easy walk into Carfiff for groceries or restaurants, and easy to walk into Encinitas as well! We will definitely be back!
