This one bedroom cottage enters through a lattice fenced/gated arbor, creating privacy for the patio garden. The parking area is accessed through a remote gate with a parking space right in front of the cottage. There are no steps. The bedroom has a queen bed & a folding, single futon enables us to accommodate a third person that can be put down in the living room.
The patio is furnished with an umbrella table with four chairs and a charcoal barbeque grill for outdoor cooking. The tropical landscaping, tradewinds, bubbling water garden and wind chime add to the tropical ambiance.
The sitting room is furnished in charming 1940's vintage Hawaiian rattan with a sofa, two lounge chairs, floor lantern, table lamp with side table and includes a TV, with VHS and DVD player and high speed internet service via a secure wireless WIFI by Spectrum.
The sliding glass doors and large slider window in the sitting room offer a private garden view, with prevailing tradewinds , providing good ventilation.
The kitchen is equipped with a full size built-in refrigerator-freezer, pantry cupboards and sink. It is outfitted with the basic kitchen utensils, dishes, and flatware for 6, glasses, wine glasses, a large electric skillet w/lid, toaster, toaster-oven, coffee maker, electric kettle, rice cooker, crock-pot, as well as a hot plate and microwave.
The bathroom has a couple large wall mirrors, tiled shower stall with two grab bars, as well as bath linens.
The bedroom has a comfy queen, 4-poster bed, bedside tables with reading lamps, an overhead ceiling fan/light and an 8' wardrobe closet with mirror doors. A small window air conditioner services the bedroom if needed. We have provided an iron and ironing board for your convenience, beach towels, beach chairs, 2 Boogie Boards and a cooler. Additional bedding and towels are available.
This cottage location is convenient to shopping and activities on the bus line to Honolulu, through either Kailua town or Kaneohe. We are 5 houses from the Kaneohe Yacht Club & if you are a sailing enthusiast and a member of another yacht club, you may have reciprocity privileges with KYC.
We are approximately two to three miles from Kailua Beach (a 5 minute drive), a beautiful long, inviting white sand beach and a favoritet place to swim, enjoy other water sports or just go for a walk. Kayaks, wind & kite-surfing rentals and instruction are available from various Kailua vendo

We stayed at the cottage Oct 18th- 24th. After searching through many rentals we decided on the Bay Dr cottage and we were very happy with our choice. It was quiet, comfotable and very convienient. Close to the beach and shoppingand had a nice Hawaiian/tropical feel. We will definately be staying there again next time we return to Kailua to visit family.
This private cottage was perfect for us! I lived in this quiet neighborhood for twenty years and this was the best place for us to stay while we visited old friends. It was beautifully decorated true Hawaiian Style and very comfortable! We enjoyed our breakfasts outside in the private courtyard among the pretty garden foliage and chirping birds. It was close to conveniences and even had private off street parking for us! This is my new "home" away from home...Thank you Blacks for your hospitality and we can't wait to visit again!
