Welcome to the Sea Chest. The Sea Chest is a quiet, cosy cabin located on the quiet north side of beautiful Savary Island, the gateway to Desolation Sound, British Columbia. Boasting several miles of sandy beaches, Savary Island has been described as "a jewel in the ocean" and "Canada's answer to Hawaii". The accommodation includes 1 queen (private bedroom), 2 double beds (bunks in a sleeping nook), plus a sleeping loft and an additional sleeping cabin for the kids if they prefer it! There is a full indoor bathroom with soaker tub plus an beautiful outdoor shower with plenty of hot water, and some ocean views! Fridge and stove (propane), wood burning stove, a tested well with running hot and cold water and all supplies you need for cooking. Oh yes - and a great stereo! A mixture of both electric (solar powered) and propane lights mean you can read and relax well into the evening both inside and out. You only need bring your food and linens. There is a huge deck at the front of the property for sunning or BBQs, and an additional large sunset deck overlooking the medium banked waterfront, with beautiful views out to Desolation Sound and the glorious sandy beaches below. Access to the beach is seconds away from the cabin and this private side of the island means you don't have to share paradise with many others!! Kilometres of hiking and biking trails wind through the lush growth of fir, cedar, maple, alder, pine, yew and arbutus that cover most of the island. The Sea Chest is the ideal retreat for people wanting to get away from the hectic pace of city living... for a romantic, relaxing weekend or an extraordinary outdoor experience including diving, fishing, kayaking, hiking, mountain biking and more. Wildlife on Savary Island includes deer, squirrels, otter, mink and numerous bald eagles. The warm waters surrounding Savary Island make it an excellent location for swimming, water skiing, boating, scuba diving, fishing and shell fishing.
