The house is situated on Calle Papagayo (Road), only 2 minutes by car from the Costanera Sur highway which hugs the Pacific coastline and offers breath-taking ocean views. Only 5 minutes from the first of many beautiful beaches.( Playa Tortuga, Playa Ventanas, Playa Pinuelas, National Marine Park Ballena, Playa Uvita, Playa Dominical....) Yes, we timed it again and again! Ojochal has excellent international restos each with a convivial and original atmosphere, local supermarket, excellent wine and liquor store, authentic French bakery, fresh-daily fish and seafood stands. Vacation activity tours such as sea kayaking, fishing, mangroves sightseeing by boat, snorkeling, scuba diving and horseback riding on jungle mountain trails.

Private, quiet, beautiful, well equipped, just what we wanted. A great spot to jel, read good books, swim in your own pool, relax, eat wonderful meals close by and enjoy the superb views of mountains and jungle forests. Make you wanna go back, even though I have only been home 3 days! You will enjoy!
We only had one week to spend in Costa Rica which was not enough. Villa Balikaya is more beautiful than the pictures suggest. The property is stunning. Waking up to the view of the primary forests was something we looked forward to each morning. In terms of access, the house is located on one of the nicest roads in the region. The owners have ensured it is well secured. The village of Ojochal is quaint with excellent restaurants. Our favourites (we didn't get to sample nearly enough) were Exotica and Citrus. The owners of Balikaya were wonderful and provided us with a ton of information before we left. The transactions were seamless. We drove from San Jose to Ojochal, first along the new toll highway to the coast and then took the coastal highway south. It was an exciting way to see the country. Check out zip-lining at mile marker 196. We also did a great ATV tour in Uvita. Can't wait to go back.
We rented this villa with another couple and had a fabulous vacation. The house is set on an exquisitely landscaped and private lot. Every amenity was provided - right down to the very comfy beds! Ojochal has wonderful restaurants (don't miss Exotica!) and our favorite beach Play Uvita is only 15 minute drive away. Thank you Dar Dar and Giselle. We'll be back next summer and someday forever.
We stayed here on our honeymoon and it is such a fantastic villa! The setting is beautiful and as they say in Costa Rica "muy tranquilo". The house is awesome and has everything you could possibly need. We loved the open air style of it. Perfect place to relax and enjoy the rainforest.
