This family-oriented cottage is located near shores of Lake Michigan on inland Wilkes' Lake among the farms and fields of Manitowoc County. This lake is dotted with private cottages, no resorts or public facilities, other than a boat landing. The property is currently unavailable July 10 - thru the end of August 2012. The Cottage sits on the eastern shore with a shallow sandy beach perfect for small children to play and explore. Its location is great for the starting the day with fishing at sunrise and relaxing with a perfect sunset view. The dining/living room is flooded with light from a wall of windows facing the lake. No matter what the weather, the ever-changing view of the lake is both restful and stimulating. (Even summer storms are an amazing view as they move across the lake.) The Cottage features two bedrooms, and sleeps six with the addition of a sleeper sofa in the living room. Each sleeping area is cooled naturally with lake breezes supplemented by ceiling fans. The kitchen is fully equipped with stove, refrigerator, microwave and more. The rustic furnishings are comfortable and familiar as favorites from bygone eras. On site, enjoy fishing, swimming, row boating and paddle boating (is being repaired may not be available the 2012 season.) There is public boat access across the lake and you may tie up your own speed boat if you wish. No wake rules from 6pm - 11am. The green, clear water invites you to dip your toes in the lake. If you like to cook over a fire, a tripod grill hangs over a fire pit and you can toast marshmallows with the sticks we supply. For more outdoor cooking, a pudgie pie maker and a charcoal grill are included in the unit. Nearby are local golf courses set on rolling hills and within twenty minutes, drive to the world class golfing of Kohler's Whistling Straights; Womens' PGA 2012, Pete Dye's Black Wolf Run and Jack Nicklaus' Bull Run. Within thirty minutes are the world class amenities of Kohler's resorts, restaurants and spas as well as the indoor water park at Blue Harbor in Sheboygan and international racing at Elkhart Lake's Road America. Within an hour's drive attend the EAA in Oshkosh, the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame or Tour Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Summerfest in Milwaukee or try Casino gambling in either Milwaukee or Green Bay.
