The condo is pool front and steps away from the sandy beach. You can sit on your private patio and soak up the beautiful Caribbean views, as well as some of the most gorgeous sunsets on earth. The property sits on a mostly private beach (there is no public access nearby). This is a great swimming beach because there are no waves in the morning, and afternoon waves are usually small (ideal for body boarders). Rincon is a small (12,000 people) tropical town with the ocean being a focal point. Rincon has a marina, which offers: deep sea fishing, snorkeling/dive trips, sunset cruises, sailing lessons or trips, and sun cat rentals. Approximately 2 miles from your condo there is world class surfing. Rincon also offers English speaking church services, many of restaurants from Five Star to casual beach side dining, historical landmarks, grocery stores and other small quaint shops. 10 - 15 minutes from Rincon is Mayaguez with a population of 100,000. Mayaguez has everything you need from shopping malls, 11 screen movie theater (movies in English with captions in Spanish), casinos, a wonderful zoo, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Sam's Wholesale Club, and everything else you would find in the states. If you are flying into Puerto Rico, you will have several options. The most common is flying to San Juan, which is served by all major airlines. Renting a car at the San Juan airport, and driving, is 2 + hour trip via interstate and 4-lane highways. If flying with Continental from the east coast (New Jersey), Jet Blue, or Spirit, there are a couple of flights which are non-stop to Aguadilla, about 20 miles from Rincon. Major rental car companies are available in Aguadilla, as well. Another option is a connecting flight on American Eagle from San Juan to Mayaguez airport, which is 8 miles from Rincon. Again, top car rental companies are represented at the Mayaguez airport.

We spent a week in this unit in March, 2011 and had a very experience. Overall, it was a very nice place to stay. The unit was clean and large enough for two adults and two children. Everything worked just fine, except for one of the air-conditioners that seemed to need resetting a couple of times during the week. One just had to turn it off for a few minutes and then it would be OK again. There were lots of towels and blankets, chairs, a charcoal grill, and the kitchen had about everything we needed. One of the bathrooms had a bidet, which made for a lot of laughs by our girls. (Apparently, it is some sort of European style bathroom thing.) The complex is located on a semi-private beach. While the Corsica beach is public, it was never very busy. Swimming was excellent and the sun-sets were as good as advertised. There were typically a fair number of people fishing along the beach towards dark and they seemed to be catching a few of smaller fish like yellow snapper in the 1-2 lb range. There were a few people fishing during the day, but they didn't seem to catch much. One doesn't need very heavy tackle. I might bring a rod or two the next time we go there. We also did some snorkeling right off the beach and saw some fish and coral there. Not as many pretty fish as at Steps Beach (just north of the marina), but it was fun to see a few schools of smaller fish and it seemed most coral patches had a fish or two guarding it. The only real negative was getting into the unit. The cell phone coverage is not so good and , unfortunately, it went out about the time we got there. We were let in after about an hour of phone calls so it wasn't too bad. The grocery store is only a couple of miles away and there is a Burger King, bakery, Mister Donuts, and many restaurants nearby as well. Some of the best places to eat seemed to be the road-side vendors all around the city. We did a number of other things in the area during the week too. There is a really nice city park in Rincon and a couple places to get ice cream. The light house is a must-see. We also went out fishing with Carolina Fishing Charters and had a blast. My oldest daughter and I had each caught two fish. I caught a 40 lb Wahoo and a King Mackerel. My daughter caught a King Mackerel and a Spanish Mackerel. What a blast! I'd highly recommend this unit and Rincon.
