We VERY much enjoyed our 12 day stay at Mare Blu. It was exactly as described, clean, and comfortable. We even had a hummingbird nest/family on the back deck. Location is great for convenience and access to anything we needed or wanted to do. We rented a car so also had very easy access to snorkeling beaches on the West side of the island, as well as quick access to any of the beaches on the East "wild" side. Thinking about 2-3 month stay sometime in the future.
We stayed at Mare Blu on Cozumel for a week in February. When we return to Cozumel, we will definitely stay at Mare Blu again. We truly felt at home here. There are 4 units in the complex, 2 of which are still under construction. However, there is no construction clutter or noise. Our neighbor staying nextdoor was quiet and rarely home. The unit we stayed in is pictured on the site - blue and yellow futon couch on the left. The two-floor unit was exactly as advertised - quiet neighborhood, clean, king bed, modest but full kitchen (untensils, pots, pans, everything we would need). Upstairs, there was a large closet and a closet with shelves, more closet space than you would find in a hotel which was a nice surprise. With luggage, it's definitely a taxi-trip from the ferry. Without, a moderate walk to and from downtown. Everything we needed was close by - just a couple of minutes in the car - grocery, downtown or the coastal road to head out on adventures. There are always adjustments to make for island living - like brushing your teeth with bottled water, but that's everywhere. Guiseppe and Maria couldn't have been nicer - ready to help with anything. They live next door so anything that comes up (nothing did during our stay) they are right there. Maria also operates a very nice little restaurant right next door as well. Our only regret was not going to the restaurant until our last evening on the island. Better food than many of the places downtown and far less expensive. Real home cooking, delicious! Definitely check out these little mom & pop restaurants! We didn't know anything about them until our second to last night. It rained, so we stuck close to home and ate at Jimmy Buffet's on the coastal road. Our waiter, Mark Antony, was very charming and friendly and clued us into the fact that these little restaurants are all over the place, and delicious and inexpensive.
